With Adilo, Secto Design introduces a pendant lamp that transforms from a flat shape into a sculptural object. Designed by Ilkka Kauppinen and handcrafted in Finland from PEFC-certified birch plywood, it embodies pure Scandinavian craftsmanship with an innovative twist.
Mesmerising presence
What makes Adilo truly remarkable is the story behind its design. Kauppinen, trained as both an industrial designer and a wood craftsman, spent years developing the idea of a lamp that literally unfolds to create its own volume. The project saw its pauses and challenges, but found the perfect ground to flourish at Secto Design. Thanks to the precision and refinement of the manufacturing process, the vision could finally come to life. Founder Tuula Jusélius captured it perfectly: “It was a perfect match right from the start. The moment I saw Ilkka present his prototype … I knew it belonged at Secto Design.”
The Adilo 8200 and the Adilo Small 8201 share the same elegant signature. Both fit seamlessly into a wide variety of interiors and create a soft, warm light that brings every space to life.
